Fluo-Imager

Overview

The Skalar Fluo-Imager, model M153, is capable of on-line measurement of low concentrations of Aromatic Hydrocarbons, like Oil in Water, Phenols, Humic and Fulvic acids, Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, PAH and many more as well as COD by using the technique of Spectral Fluorescent Signatures. This technique is based on a direct measurement of a 3-dimensional fluorescent pattern of the sample. These three dimensions are excitation wavelength, emission wavelength and the amount of fluorescence. These fluorescent patterns are compared with fingerprints of known compounds in an easy self-adjustable library. This way different compounds will be recognized and also quantified without the use of any sample pre-treatment.

The monitor cabinet has lockable doors and separation between electronics and measuring unit, to avoid corrosion, which assures reliable operation of the instrument. Sample can be measured continuously, with automatic rinsing cycle, and concentration is shown on a clear display of a build-in industrial touch-screen computer.

The analysis of priority (discrete) samples can be carried out by use of the batch mode, during which, the on-line sample analysis is suspended. The performance of the hardware is continuously checked to guarantee proper analysis. The alarm level is adjustable and an alarm signal will be send if a parameter excites this level. The quartz Xe-lamp with continuous spectrum is used as light-source. The excitation wavelength is varied from 240 nm to 360 nm and fluorescence registration in spectral range from 250 nm to 570 nm. During the measurement of these fluorescent patterns a background correction is used to measure the right amount of the desirable parameter.

Skalar's Automated Kelada In line distillation and digestion for Cyanides

Many laboratories on a daily basis analyze many samples for the presence of various forms of cyanide. Most of these samples do require manual distillation and/or digestion of the sample prior to a standard colorimetric detection in order to remove the presence of known interferences.
