Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and pH Analysis
Robotic Analyzers
Overview
Skalar has developed a range of analyzers that meet many industrial requirements in the field of chemical automation, BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), COD ( Chemical Oxygen Demand) and pH analysis. In addition to significant time saving and increased data quality, these analyzer systems also provide true analytical consistency and precision in every step of the analytical process.
SP10
The SP10 Robotic Analyzer has been designed for the cost-effective automation of a.o. BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) for laboratories running smaller numbers of samples. The SP10 robotic analyzer consists of a XYZ sample-handling station which holds two racks of 16 bottles each. The probe and stirrer are connected to the moving actuator of the sample-handling station. The values are read by the meter which is interfaced to the SP10. In case of BOD analysis, the level of automation can be extended with an optional pump for the automatic addition of dilution water and/or a dispenser for automatic addition of seed or a nitrification inhibitor. Further to the automation of BOD analyses, Skalar's SP10 robotic analyzer can also be configured to automate one of the following applications: pH (soil & water), Conductivity, Turbidity and Color. Operating under WindowsTM, the user friendly software for the SP10 is easy to set-up and to operate in day-to-day routine analysis. With password protected levels, user definable worksheet & report lay-outs and easy LIMS connection it fully meets the requirements of today’s analytical laboratory. BOD calculations are done according to standard regulations: EPA, ISO, EN, DIN, ASTM, etc
SP50
The Skalar SP50 Robotic Analyzer provides increased automation and a higher throughput, due to the dual probe possibility and a larger batch size. Up to 54 Standard BOD bottles, divided over 3 racks can be analyzed per batch. Each rack contains 18 bottles, reducing the weight and allowing easy transfer of the racks when required. The analyzer provides complete "walk-away" automation for several applications such as Color, Turbidity, pH, Conductivity, BOD, ISE applications and many more
SP100
The Skalar SP100 Robotic Analyzer provides full automation of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Turbidity, Color, pH (soil and water), Conductivity and others. For laboratories running over a hundred BOD analyses per day the SP100 robotic analyzer is the instrument of choice. The SP100 robotic analyzer consists of a mechanical section, which is controlled by the computer. The samples, which are loaded in sample racks, are presented via a rail mechanism to one or two manipulators, which in turn perform a series of tasks automatically on the sample such as stirring, addition of dilution water, seed, nitrification inhibitor, capping and de-capping of bottles and oxygen measurement. The sample capacity can be extended upto 100 samples per batch by adding optional extension rails to the SP100. The WindowsTM software package controls the measurements on the SP100, creates worksheets, calculates the results according to standard (EPA, ISO, DIN etc) regulations and generates reports. The software has user adjustable modules for each installed application.
SP1000
The SP1000 Robotic Analyzer is a reliable and affordable way to automate high volume sample loads. With its durable and stable design, the analyzer provides accurate random XYZ-movements that can be implemented for various applications. No lab-bench modifications are required. The system provides a smooth and effective transition from manual sample handling to automation. The SP1000 compliments the proven and successful existing Skalar Robotic Analyzers and ensures complete customer satisfaction and confidence. With the wide array of extension applications, the SP1000 Robotic Analyzer continues Skalar's long tradition of automated analysis.
